Chihuahua: Giver of kisses.. bestest of friends; faithful and loyal, love without end!
Come on in .... meet our family... Our family has always had chihuahuas, along with a variety of other members of the animal kingdom! My siblings and I were always rescuing all sorts of creatures. Thank goodness our Mom and Dad were animal lovers! We always had several pets. My brothers loved everything, including the "boy" stuff like snakes, lizards, rabbits, and we even had a Rooster named George. My sister and I tended to stick with the fluffy, cuddly species like dogs, cats, hamsters, etc! lol
Our family's love for the chihuahua was more or less a birth right of sorts. Several generations of our family members had them, so it was only natural for our parents to have them as well. Sock was our first. When our family moved to Atlanta, Sock went to live with our Grandparents in Alabama. I was only 14 months old, so have no memory of Sock. Years later we got another chi, named Jose, but sadly he was not a socialable little guy and would only allow me to take care of him. He was an adult, so we figured he had never been socialized properly. I understood why Jose went to live with my Uncle in Alabama, afterall it wasn't fair to my brothers and sister for me to have Jose all to myself.
We had other pets throughout the years and when I was grown and on my own, I wanted a Chi of my own. I rescued this little, fat, toothless chihuahua from an elderly couple. She was almost 7 years old and looked like a football on steriods... after a trip to the Vet and nursing her back to health, she lived to be 17 years old. I grieved for my little Candy, and waited two years to get another baby. This time, I wanted to look for an AKC Registered Chihuahua. I was living in Florida then and set out to began my search. I found a breeder close by and went to her home in search of my new baby. I only went to look! (Yeah, right?) She had five pups for us to meet. When I sat on the floor this tiny little black and white baby climbed on my lap, gave me lots of kisses, and eventually fell alseep ... yep, she chose me. My heart had been stolen in less than an hours time! She was the tiniest little chi I had ever seen! No bigger than a dollar bill! I named her Tia. Like Candy, Tia remained very small, under 4 pounds most of her life. We never bred her because our Vet said she was too small and the risks were too high of losing her during whelping. That was a shame too, because Tia had the sweetest personality, she was not the sterotypical chi; she was friendly and outgoing, and frighteningly smart! She lived a long happy life of 19 years! I used to say we grew up together. That was a very hard loss for me as well as my family, she was such a part of our lives.
In 2004, I found my boy, AKC registered Lil Man Samson. It was love at first sight! Blue fawn with beautiful green eyes, and whites socks on each foot! He wasn't supposed to get over 3 pounds, so I litter box trained him (only took two weeks) and was ready to raise my little man! Today, almost 4 years later, he is the MAN of the house! He is over 7 pounds, all muscle, and as our Vet, Dr, Colby says, "he is Spectacular!" His coat is like silk and a beautiful shade of blue fawn. He is the idea behind our site name ---- Samson is the ultimate pampered chi of all time!! Our chi's ARE our babies! NO DOUBT!
After much anticipation, our family grew again this past year when we decided to get Samson a wife. We were so happy that we found our girl Delilah. Her AKC name is Socks, but after getting to know her, it really didn't fit, she deserved a girly name since she is so petite and dainty, we renamed her Delilah. She took to her new name quickly! She is a beautiful, 4 lb. Red Fawn. Delilah came to us already bred with Ms. Melinda's AKC RD by his Stripes, "Striper", a beautiful brindle and white 4 pound chihuahua. Samson fell in love with Delilah immediately! We love to watch him "protect and look out for her" every day!
Delilah gave birth to 6 babies on Christmas day! Talk about a Merry Christmas for us! She is such an awesome Momma! All her babies were itsy bitsy and gorgeous. Their Dad lives with Ms. Melinda in Bruce, WI. We have kept a photo journal for each pup since birth. I have been making them each a memory book for their forever families to enjoy! My Mom made them each their own blankie, and they will also go to their forever family with their favorite toy, and a puppy starter kit with their essentials.
Today, Samson and Delilah are loving life with 5 beautiful puppies running about! They are all special little babies too! Each with their own unique personality and style! Needless to say, our household is very busy but a very happy one! There is nothing better than ending the day with lots of puppy kisses!
We currently have three puppies for sale. Two boys and one girl. Come on in and meet our family! We're so glad you stopped by!
